August 17, 2026 - CLEVELAND - The City of Cleveland has launched Rave, the City's official emergency notification system designed to keep residents, businesses, visitors, and neighboring areas informed during emergencies, major events, and other important community updates. Community members are encouraged to register today to stay informed during emergencies, major events, and important community updates.
"Whether dealing with emergency situations or major events, timely and reliable communication is critical for residents, visitors, and our first responders," says Wayne Drummond, Director of Public Safety for the City of Cleveland. "This essential tool will strengthen our emergency response, keeping our communities safe, informed, and connected." Rave delivers timely notifications directly to subscribers by text message, email, and/or voice call, helping community members stay informed and prepared when critical information matters most.
Residents can customize their alert preferences by selecting the types of notifications they want to receive, the geographic areas they want to monitor, and their preferred method of communication. Whether at home, work, or on the go, Rave provides important information to help individuals make informed decisions during emergencies and other significant events.
"For older adults, receiving accurate information quickly can make all the difference during an emergency," said Mary McNamara, Director of the City of Cleveland Department of Aging. "We encourage Cleveland seniors, their families, caregivers, and neighbors to sign up for Rave so they receive timely alerts that help them stay safe, prepared, and connected to their community."
Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. Current subscribers are also encouraged to review and update their contact information and notification preferences to ensure they continue receiving the alerts.
