Governor Polis Celebrates First Trip of the 2025-26 Season of the Winter Park Express

DENVER - This morning, Governor Polis celebrated the first annual trip of the Winter Park Express, sending off skiers to hit the slopes without the mountain traffic.

"All aboard the The Winter Park Express! The Winter Park Express is an easy and convenient ride, truly a national model, and shows how passenger rail provides people with affordable, and safe ways to go where we want to go. With fares cheaper than ever, there's no better time to try out the Winter Park Express. I'm excited to see the continued growth and popularity of the Winter Park Express this year, helping get Coloradans where we want to go, saving people time and money, and removing traffic and pollution from our highways," said Governor Polis.

"In our second season of expanded service and lower fares, people's excitement for the train is only growing, with sales up more than 20% already. The Winter Park Express is a comfortable, convenient option if you want to hit the slopes but skip the drive. We will continue to pursue innovative ways to give people new travel options that also reduce congestion on the roads and pollution in the air," said CDOT Executive Director Shoshana Lew.
