Pearl Cohn High School Student Arrested For Making Threat

A 16-year-old Pearl Cohn High School student was arrested this morning after messaging an egregious threat to commit a mass shooting on Instagram. Screenshots of the messages were sent to the principal last night and the student was identified as the owner of the Instagram account.

He was taken into custody by the Rapid School Safety Team upon his arrival at school this morning where he confessed to making the threat.

He is charged in Juvenile Court with making a threat of mass violence and false reporting.

Threats against schools, special events and businesses are taken very seriously by the MNPD. Those responsible, once identified, will be prosecuted.
