Middlebury Resident Charged with Lewd or Lascivious Conduct with a Child

The Attorney General's Office today announced that Dennis Barbour, 46, of Middlebury, Vermont, was arraigned on three felony counts of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct with a Child. The charges brought against Mr. Barbour are the result of an investigation conducted by the Middlebury Police Department.

Mr. Barbour pleaded not guilty at the arraignment today in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division. The Court, Judge Alison Arms presiding, ordered conditions of release prohibiting Mr. Barbour from having contact with the victim and witnesses.

The Attorney General's Office emphasizes that individuals charged with a crime are legally presumed innocent until their guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
