Kitzmiller Gives Back

KHIC's Kristi Kitzmiller's' ties to the London community are generational. Her grandfather, William Brooks, and his brother-in-law, Nelson Griffin, Sr., were instrumental in starting Griffin Pie Company in North Carolina and bringing it to Kentucky. Later, her father was the bakery's President, which today is Flowers Bakery and employs over 500. Each year, London City Tourism celebrates this with Honey Bun Day. The day is packed full of honey bun-themed activities, including an attempt to break the Guinness World Record of most honey buns consumed at one time. Kitzmiller and her cousin, Laura Schepis, are judges for the Taste the Bun.
