On the margins of the 49th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council, the AU Commission Chairperson, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, held discussions with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration & Tunisians Abroad of the Republic of #Tunisia, & also H.E. Amb. Akuei Bona Malwal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of #SouthSudan.
Their engagements reaffirmed the importance of advancing the African Union's reform agenda, strengthening continental peace and security efforts, and promoting African-led solutions to Africa's challenges.
With Minister Ali Nafti of Libya, they exchanged views on the need to support a Libyan-owned & #Libyan-led political process, address the devastating conflict & humanitarian situation in #Sudan, & respond to emerging security and public health challenges.
In his meeting with Amb. Akuei Bona Malwa of South Sudan, the Chairperson reiterated AU's commitment to supporting peace, stability & inclusive governance in South Sudan, including efforts to uphold the Revitalised Peace Agreement & ensure inclusive, free & fair elections.
