Banwell Bypass crowned Infrastructure Project of the Year

Galliford Try's Banwell Bypass project in North Somerset has won the Infrastructure Project of the Year award at the Procure Partnerships Framework (PPF) National Project Excellence Awards (NPEA), which recognises outstanding projects that set new benchmarks in the industry through their work on the nationwide framework.

The £66.5m project will relieve traffic on the A38 route towards Weston-super-Mare from the current pinch point north of Banwell village, unlocking the potential for future housing development. The scheme will also see the creation of new walking, cycling and horse-riding routes.

The project is being delivered on behalf of North Somerset Council, funded through the Homes England Housing Infrastructure Fund and was secured through the PPF.

Commenting on the award win, Glennan Blackmore, Managing Director, Galliford Try Infrastructure, said: "This award is a testament to the commitment, expertise and teamwork that have underpinned the Banwell Bypass project from the very beginning. By working closely with North Somerset Council, our supply chain partners and the local community, we have delivered a scheme that will provide lasting benefits for the region. We are delighted to receive this recognition and would like to thank everyone involved for their contribution to this outstanding achievement."
