METROPOLIS, IL - State Representative Patrick Windhorst recently marked National Manufacturing Month by joining the Illinois Manufacturing Association and the Southern Illinois Workforce Development Board for its 4th Annual Workforce Summit at John A. Logan College.

Windhorst says the Summit was a chance for local legislators to interact with college and manufacturing officials from the Southern Illinois region and to offer support for local manufacturers and workforce development entities.

"I was honored to join Senator Terri Bryant and Representative David Friess as part of the John A. Logan College Workforce Summit. Events like these that support manufacturing and employment in our region are consequential to the future of economic development of southern Illinois," Windhorst said. "We have a talented workforce, high-class educational institutions, infrastructure, and natural resources here in southern Illinois to be a national economic and manufacturing powerhouse."
