Investigation following a shoplifting report at Target, 3171 Lebanon Pike, resulted in Friday's arrest of Jerry Wayne Rippy, 36, who was wanted on a Grand Jury indictment for 1st degree murder in the August 2024 fatal shooting of Christopher Walter, 41, in an alley off Hart and Creek Streets.
After the shooting, a man was seen fleeing the area on a moped. Walter, who stayed in an encampment on Creek Street, had reportedly been accused of taking another man's moped.
