Statement by the Foreign Ministers of Italy, the European Union and Other Countries on New Israeli Settlements

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, today signed a joint statement with the Foreign Ministers of 20 other countries and the European Union, strongly condemning the Israeli decision to proceed with new settlement plans in the West Bank and calling for their immediate reversal.

The statement reiterates that such a decision constitutes a violation of international law and undermines the shared goal of ensuring security and prosperity in the Middle East.

Minister Tajani emphasised that "this plan irreparably undermines the two-state solution, dividing the future Palestinian state and restricting Palestinian access to Jerusalem".
