Residents are invited to attend "Renter Rights 101" on Friday, Nov. 21, from noon to 2 p.m. at Silver Key Senior Services, 1625 S. Murray Blvd. The free class, hosted by Colorado Legal Services and the City of Colorado Springs' Housing and Homelessness Response Department, will help renters better understand their rights and responsibilities under Colorado law.
Led by Colorado Legal Services attorney Clinton Albert, the workshop will cover topics including lease basics, reasonable accommodations and modifications, deposits, repairs, evictions, and recent updates to state housing legislation. Participants will also learn about local organizations that provide housing and legal resources. While presenters cannot offer legal advice on individual cases, the class will provide practical information to help renters navigate common challenges and avoid costly disputes.
Residents may attend in person or online. Optional registration allows participants to receive a copy of the presentation slides and event recording.
This session is part of the ongoing Renter Rights 101 Workshop Series produced in collaboration with Colorado Legal Services, the Pikes Peak Library District, The Justice Center, Colorado Housing Connects, The Independence Center, Silver Key Senior Services, the Community Economic Defense Project, and the City of Colorado Springs Housing and Homelessness Response Department.
