Pete Perez, P.E., will lead the expansion of civil works projects and programs with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. He will be instrumental in identifying opportunities and risks, providing strategic guidance for ongoing projects, and developing client engagement plans.

"I am honored to be a part of an outstanding team and organization like HDR," Perez said. "Transitioning from one great organization, USACE, to another that shares core values of integrity, dedication, and commitment to quality and its people is an inspiring beginning to a new chapter in my career. I look forward to adding value to an already remarkable team and organization."

Perez joins HDR following over 30 years of distinguished service as a department of the Army civilian. Most recently, he served as chief of the engineering and construction division at USACE headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he ensured the technical proficiency of over 11,000 engineers and architects across the U.S. and abroad, overseeing the delivery of an annual program valued at approximately $40 billion. Pete retired from federal service as a member of the Senior Executive Service.

Before his role at USACE headquarters, Perez served as programs director for the USACE southwestern division in Dallas, Texas, where he oversaw major efforts such as Hurricane Harvey recovery, the Fort Bliss hospital project, and the Border Wall Program for Customs and Border Protection. Perez also served in various leadership roles at the USACE Galveston, Alaska, and Afghanistan districts.

"We are thrilled to have Pete join our team," said Doug McAneny, HDR federal group president. "Although his primary focus at HDR will be on civil works, his experience spans the full spectrum of USACE programs, including military programs, environmental initiatives, and work with other federal agencies and international partners. His expertise will be a significant asset across multiple market sectors."
