The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has officially posted draft materials for implementation of the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA).

HUD's Multifamily Housing providers are required to use the updated materials, including forms and model leases, to comply with the new HOTMA requirements for income certifications and more.

After initially posting the materials to its drafting table, which gave stakeholders an early chance to review the drafts, HUD on September 17, published the draft forms to the Federal Register to formally request feedback within a 30-day window, with comments due October 17.

During the first LeadingAge feedback session hosted on September 16, we primarily reviewed the model leases. The second call will focus on various forms and resident brochures. LeadingAge members can register for the call on September 23, 2:30 - 4p.m. ET.

Review the draft documents here, and keep up with LeadingAge's work on HOTMA here.
