NEW ORLEANS - Loyola University New Orleans has been named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society's 2026 Transfer Honor Roll, a national recognition honoring colleges and universities that demonstrate a strong commitment to the success of community college transfer students.
Loyola is one of 275 colleges and universities nationwide selected for the 2026 Transfer Honor Roll. The annual recognition identifies four-year institutions that create dynamic pathways to support community college transfer students as they pursue bachelor's degrees.
Phi Theta Kappa evaluates institutions across the transfer student experience, considering factors including transfer outcomes, the transfer and application of credits toward a degree, financial support, admissions practices, and student engagement and support.
The recognition reflects Loyola's commitment to making a Jesuit education accessible to students arriving at the university through different academic pathways. Transfer students become part of the Wolf Pack community while building upon the academic work they have already completed and pursuing their degrees at Loyola.
Loyola works to make the transfer process as straightforward as possible. Accepted transfer students receive an official evaluation of their previous college coursework, and credits earned with a grade of C or higher generally transfer from accredited two-year and four-year institutions. Transfer applicants are also automatically considered for competitive merit and talent-based scholarships.
For its 2026 Transfer Honor Roll, Phi Theta Kappa evaluated information submitted by more than 1,100 colleges and universities through PTK Connect, along with data from the National Student Clearinghouse. The 275 institutions selected represent those demonstrating some of the strongest transfer outcomes and support systems in the country.
Across the institutions recognized on the 2026 Honor Roll, transfer students had an average bachelor's degree completion rate of 77 percent. On average, 88 percent of credits transferred toward students' degrees, and 76 percent of transfer students received merit-based financial aid.
The recognition adds to Loyola's continued efforts to expand pathways to higher education while providing students with the personalized support and opportunities that define the Loyola experience. Whether students begin their college careers at Loyola or join the Wolf Pack as transfer students, the university is committed to helping them find their place, pursue their goals and thrive within Loyola's academic community.
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recognizes the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helps them grow as scholars and leaders. Founded in 1918, the organization has established more than 1,300 chapters in 11 countries, with millions of students inducted throughout its history.
