Sydney Cmar, MPH, RN, CIC, the infection control and safety supervisor at Firelands Regional Medical Center, received the Northwest Ohio Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Champion Award.
"This prestigious award reflects Sydney's countless hours that she dedicates to Firelands, our community and her work in infection control," said Sheri Johnson, senior director of quality at Firelands Health. "I have witnessed Sydney's exceptional contributions to infection control and quality improvement at our hospital many times. She consistently rises to the challenges presented in these critical areas, making a significant impact on patient safety and overall quality of care."
The Northwest Ohio APIC Champion Award recognizes a NW Ohio 093 APIC member who demonstrates dedication, leadership, and commitment to advancing the local chapter. This honor goes to someone who fosters collaboration, inspires others, and makes a meaningful impact on the infection prevention and control community.
