Long-Term One-Way Traffic Control At Old River Bridge
San Joaquin County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on State Route 4 (SR-4) for maintenance and construction work within San Joaquin County. Work will occur as follows:

Long-term, 24-hour, one-way traffic control will be implemented on SR-4 at the Old River Bridge for construction through November 2026.

Vehicles measuring over 34 feet in length are strongly recommended to seek alternate routes. SR-12 or Interstate 205 are highway alternatives between Discovery Bay and Stockton.

Overnight, alternating full on and off-ramp closures at Hammer Lane, Eight Mile Road, SR-12 (Flag City), Turner Road, Peltier Road, and Walnut Grove/Thornton Road for construction beginning Sunday, March 29, through Friday, April 3, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. (northbound) and from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. (southbound).
The above listed lane and ramp closures on I-5 between Hammer Lane and the San Joaquin/Sacramento County line are required as part of the I-5 Anchor Pavement Project that will improve 34 miles of existing pavement and shoulders from Hammer Lane in Stockton to the San Joaquin/Sacramento County line. The project will also replace on- and off-ramps with upgraded concrete at Eight Mile Road, State Route 12, Turner Road, Peltier Road, and Thornton Road/Walnut Grove Road.
