Jack Daniel's Operation Ride Home: In conjunction with Jack Daniel's Distillery & Operation Ride Home, New Brunswick is hosting the Jack Daniel's Barrel Tree in New Jersey, located at 5 Livingston Ave. throughout the month. Operation Ride is a program designed to assist junior-enlisted service members and their families in traveling home for the holidays from their military bases.
American Hungarian Foundation's 38th Annual Festival of Trees: The trees have been decorated by local organizations invited to share the holiday traditions of their cultures at the American Hungarian Foundation gallery, 300 Somerset St., and various places around New Brunswick through Jan. 6, 2026.
Rutgers Big Chill 5K: Get ready to jog through the streets of the City or cheer on the participants during this charitable event on December 13 that has served the Rutgers University-New Brunswick community since 2003. The race begins at 10 a.m.
Hungarian Christmas Market: The Annual Hungarian Christmas Market benefiting the Hungarian Scouts, featuring Hungarian foods and artisan products, takes place at the American Hungarian Foundation, 300 Somerset St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 13.
Holidays Around the World: K-6 children are invited to the New Brunswick Free Public Library on Dec. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. to learn about the many holidays celebrated. The event is free, but registration is needed.

Community Kwanzaa Celebration: Join fellow residents for the annual celebration of Kwanzaa, hosted from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center 3rd Floor exhibition area on Dec. 18.
