Husted: "I don't think that is a bad thing, because I don't think those [jobs] are enriching"

COLUMBUS, OHIO - Newly resurfaced video showed that Jon Husted called for replacing "repetitive" jobs with robots, saying that "I don't think those [jobs] are enriching."

Jon Husted has been called the "face of data centers" in Ohio for his record of bringing hundreds of data centers to the state while local communities were left with the bill.

Ohio Democratic Party Senior Communications Advisor Tony Wen released the following statement:

"Once again, Jon Husted is insulting hardworking Ohioans - this time by saying he wants to replace their jobs with robots because he does not think their work is 'enriching.' Jon Husted could not be more out of touch with the people of Ohio, and they will hold him accountable in November."

• Jon Husted, who was called "the face of data centers" in the state of Ohio, has suggested replacing American workers with AI in jobs he deems too menial and repetitive to be done by human beings, after pushing to bring hundreds of AI data centers to his state.

• "Robotics and other things like that are going to take away, are going to end a lot of the repetitive work," Husted said on a video call [26:56] with the Darke County Chamber of Commerce in 2021. "If you worked in something that had a repetitive nature to it, those kinds of jobs are going away. They're going to be replaced by robots. I don't think that is a bad thing, because I don't think those are enriching- the enriching kinds of jobs that most people want to do."

• Apparently, Husted thinks if your job is boring you are expendable and should be replaced by a robot. No clarification was provided on which jobs he deems too boring to be performed by actual breathing American workers.

• But Husted isn't just promoting technological shifts in the economy on their merits. He has also been a major champion of the AI industrial complex; pushing taxpayer support for highly invasive AI data centers spread throughout his state at the expense of the privacy and environmental sustainability of his constituents.
