138 countries present plans for participation in Expo 2027

The first day of the 2nd International Participants Meeting for Expo 2027 was held today at the Sava Centre in Belgrade, attended by high-ranking representatives of state institutions, international organisations and national delegations - representatives of the world's leading economies.

During the day, the participants of the meeting were presented with their countries' plans for Expo 2027 by ministers, ambassadors and directors of national institutions responsible for economy, trade, innovation, tourism, culture and sports from 138 countries, as well as representatives of numerous international organisations, development agencies and the United Nations.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, Commissioner for Expo 2027 and Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarević, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes and Director of Expo 2027 Danilo Jerinić told the participants that Expo 2027 represents a unique opportunity for Belgrade and Serbia to become a global meeting point for ideas, cultures and innovations.

Lazarević today signed contracts on participation in the Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade with Commissioners for Expo 2027 Belgrade from 13 countries: Azerbaijan, Germany, São Tomé and Príncipe, Greece, Lesotho, Uganda, Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Congo, Eritrea, Senegal and the Maldives.

During the first day of the 2nd International Participants Meeting for Expo 2027, nine mini-conferences were organised for the media, at which the participating countries presented their countries' themes and campaigns for participation in the specialised exhibition next year.
