Same conference, new name! The Siena Saints are excited for the launch of The Metro Conference, effective July 1.
The new identity, a shortened version of the current Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) moniker, was developed to establish a clearer, more modern, and distinct identity while honoring the tradition and foundation built over the last 45 years, according to Commissioner Travis Tellitocci.
Since joining the Conference for the 1989-90 season, Siena has become one of the most successful institutions - across many sports - in the Conference's history. Siena is featured several times in this brief brand reveal video.
The rebrand is the result of a multi-year strategic planning initiative that began in 2023 and included extensive feedback and collaboration from institutional leaders, student-athletes, coaches, alumni, fans, communications and marketing professionals, and members of the national media.
Tellitocci said the transition to The Metro Conference creates a clearer identity across television, digital platforms, championships, recruiting, and apparel while eliminating decades of acronym confusion.
"The Metro Conference identity was developed to better position the Conference within the rapidly evolving collegiate athletics landscape, where visibility, storytelling, and national brand recognition continue to become increasingly important," he said.
