Statement: Susan Collins Still Responsible For RFK Jr.’s Chaos and Undermining of Science

Augusta, Maine - Following fired CDC Director Susan Monarez's testimony in front of the Senate today, Maine Democratic Party spokesperson Tommy Garcia released the following statement:

"Susan Collins bears responsibility for RFK Jr. and the Trump administration's ongoing efforts to undermine science which is putting Americans' health at risk. RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine, anti-science views have been clear for years - and yet Collins voted to confirm him anyway. Any false outrage or 'concerns' from Collins will fall flat with Maine voters."

Earlier this summer, Collins doubled down on her full throated support for RFK Jr., offering zero regrets on her vote to confirm him even as he slashed cancer research funding, gutted health agencies keeping Americans safe and healthy, eliminated Maine jobs and canceled $91 million in funding for Maine public health programs. Today, Collins again refused to offer regrets over her vote to confirm RFK Jr.
