PPG named among Top 100 Players of China’s New Automotive Supply Chain by industry news outlet Gasgoo

Award highlights PPG's collaboration with automotive customers in China

SHANGHAI, Nov. 5, 2026 - PPG (NYSE: PPG) today announced that it has been named among the Top 100 Players of China's New Automotive Supply Chain at the 2026 Gasgoo Awards. The awards, organized by China-based automotive industry information platform Gasgoo, recognize companies that show strength in key technologies, engineering, market validation and industry collaboration.

PPG submitted its PPG AQUACRON® PWB waterborne basecoat for this year's selection. The basecoat creates a liquid-metal color effect that helps automakers offer distinctive vehicle colors. PPG developed and refined the technology in close collaboration with customers, whose design goals, process requirements and application feedback helped guide it from color concept to production.

Tony Gu, PPG engineering director, Automotive Coatings, Asia Pacific, accepted the recognition on behalf of the company at the 2026 Gasgoo Awards ceremony, held late last month in Shanghai.
