The City of Fargo recognizes that seeking assistance for mental health concerns demonstrates strength and access to care can be life-saving and improve outcomes.

WHEREAS, The maintenance of sound mental health is integral to overall health and well-being, and mental health conditions are prevalent, manageable and treatable; and

WHEREAS, All individuals encounter periods of stress and trauma throughout their lives; and

WHEREAS, Proactive preventive care, robust support networks and timely early intervention are conducive to lifelong wellness; and

WHEREAS, Seeking assistance for mental health concerns demonstrates strength and access to care can be life-saving and improve outcomes; and

WHEREAS, Open and compassionate discourse regarding mental health can effectively challenge societal stigma; and

WHEREAS, Proactively seek support for someone experiencing difficulties, with the understanding that help is accessible and recovery is a realistic prospect.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Dr. Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, North Dakota, do hereby proclaim May 2025 as

MENTAL HEALTH MONTH

Together, we can make a community where mental health is prioritized and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
