Each year, the Texas Chemistry Council and Texas Chemistry Alliance recognize member companies and individuals who demonstrate excellence in safety, community engagement and industry leadership. These awards highlight strong performance, continuous improvement and leadership in environmental, health and safety.

Chevron Phillips Chemical was recently recognized with more than 20 awards from the TCC for excellence in safety and operational performance.

Leadership in safety recognized

In addition to facility-level honors, Carrie Phillips, plant manager of the company's Orange facility, received the Gerald R. Ehrman Award for Leadership in Safety Management. The award recognizes plant managers who demonstrate exceptional leadership in advancing safety programs and culture.

"This award reflects the impact Carrie has had on her team and our organization," Bryan Canfield, Senior Vice President of Manufacturing & Projects, said. "Her leadership has helped build trust, accountability and a commitment to continuous improvement."

Multiple CPChem facilities, including Sweeny, Clemens & Old Ocean, Pasadena, Cedar Bayou, Conroe and Port Arthur, received Caring for Texas Awards for continuous improvement in community awareness, emergency response, security and pollution prevention.

The Borger facility was also recognized with the Excellence in Caring Award for its impact within the local community. The Orange facility received the Sustained Excellence in Caring for Texas Award, recognizing consistent performance in community engagement and operational excellence.

Strong safety performance across operations

The TCC Safety Awards Program promotes continual improvement in safety performance among member companies.

CPChem's Orange, Pasadena and Borger facilities earned Zero Incident Awards for achieving zero OSHA-recordable injuries or illnesses in 2025. In addition, Orange, Borger, Port Arthur, Conroe and Pasadena were recognized with the Dr. Sam Mannan Award for reporting no Tier 1 or Tier 2 process safety incidents.

"These awards reflect the unwavering commitment of our teams to protect each other, our communities and the environment," Elliott Johnson, senior vice president of EHSS&E, said. "We are proud of their dedication to safety excellence and their role in leading our Journey to Zero."

The TCC also recognized the Orange and Pasadena Plastics Complex with the Distinguished Safety Service Award. This honor is awarded to facilities with zero Tier 1 and Tier 2 process safety events that also demonstrate meaningful improvements in safety culture.
