A large crowd attended a public meeting Tuesday, January 13, 2026, to review information and provide input on the proposed Harmony Grove Interchange Project along Interstate 79.
The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) hosted the meeting at the Skyview Elementary School Cafeteria/Commons. The open-house-style meeting allowed residents, business owners and other stakeholders to review maps, displays, and other project materials and speak directly with project representatives.
The proposed project includes construction of a new interchange on I-79 between Exit 148 (Interstate 68 East) and Exit 152 (U.S. 19 Westover/Morgantown-Granville). The new interchange is intended to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and provide additional capacity to accommodate future growth in and around the Morgantown Industrial Park.
There was no formal presentation during the meeting. Instead, representatives from WVDOH were available throughout the evening to answer questions, explain project details and discuss the planning process.
The meeting generated a steady flow of attendees over the three-hour event.
Members of the public who were unable to attend the meeting may still review project information and submit comments. Written comments will be accepted through Monday, February 16, 2026.
