On September 26, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Solomon Islands held the Reception in Celebrating the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 6th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Solomon Islands. Chinese Ambassador Cai Weiming and 200 other guests including Solomon Islands' Acting Prime Minister Tovosia, Speaker of the National Parliament Oti, several other ministers and MPs, representatives of diplomatic corps, local Chinese communities attended the reception.
Amb. Cai Weiming highlighted China's achievements during past 76 years and the progress of China-Solomon Islands' cooperation over past 6 years, and stressed that China is willing to work together with Solomon Islands, on the basis of the one-China principle, to enhance bilateral cooperation, implement the Global Governance Initiative, and build a community of shared future for the two countries.
Acting PM Tovosia praised China's development and its cooperation with Solomon Islands, reiterated Solomon Islands' firm commitment to the one-China principle, and expressed Solomon Islands' determination to further enhance its friendship and cooperation with China.
In a grand and warm atmosphere, the guests enjoyed the Embassy's special photo exhibition and beautiful songs performed by Chung Wah School. Amb. Cai Weing also awarded the wining students for the "China through my eyes" essay competition.
