The 16th BRICS Summit opened in Kazan

On the first day of the summit, Vladimir Putin held meetings with President of the New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff Rousseff DilmaPresident of the New Development Bank, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi Modi NarendraPrime Minister of India, President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa Ramaphosa CyrilPresident of the Republic of South Africa, President of China Xi Jinping Xi JinpingPresident of People's Republic of China, and President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi el-Sisi Abdel FattahPresident of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Heads of delegations also attended a concert and an informal dinner for BRICS leaders.

The 16th BRICS Summit is taking place in Kazan on October 22-24 under the Russian Chairmanship themed Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security.
