Summer in the Midwest brings plenty of familiar traditions, and one of our favorites at Great Range Capital is welcoming a new class of summer analysts to the team. This year's cohort is made up of four talented students from across the region, and we're grateful they've chosen to spend part of their summer with us.
Over the next several weeks, these four will work alongside the team through every stage of the deal process, contributing to live transactions, research, and investment analysis. The internship itself is short, but our investment in their careers doesn't end when they head back to campus in August.
Alex Vazquez
Alex is a rising junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia studying finance and banking. His interest in finance traces back to watching CNBC with his dad in high school, a curiosity that has only sharpened through hands-on experience since. Past internships with Deloitte and EquipmentShare helped develop his understanding of financial analysis and deal execution. Next summer, he will head to Chicago as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst with Deloitte Corporate Finance. On campus, Alex is involved with the University of Missouri Investment Group, the AACE Venture Fund, and the Cornell Leadership Program, and serves as Treasurer of his fraternity. Outside of class, he enjoys weightlifting, golf, and following sports. He loves to travel and counts a winter service trip to Panama as his favorite adventure of the past year.
Will Schroeder
Will is a rising junior at the University of Notre Dame, where he majors in finance and studio art. His interest in finance began in middle school when he started his own lawn and landscaping business and grew it throughout high school. At Notre Dame, Will is involved with the Student International Business Council, where he works with financial services firms to build mock leveraged buyouts and M&A transactions. He's also an analyst with the Notre Dame Investment Club, where he pitches public equities, researches current portfolio holdings, and reviews prospective long positions. After his time at GRC, Will plans to join Evercore as an investment banking summer analyst in their Chicago industrials group. Outside of finance, he stays busy fly fishing and tying flies, rock climbing, visiting art museums, and working on his golf game.
Autumn Sun
Autumn is a rising junior at the University of Kansas, majoring in finance and information systems. Her interest in finance was sparked during her first semester at KU on a trip to New York City with the Women in Finance club for a Women in Investments career forum, a trip that led her to join the Women in Finance board. She's continued to build her financial knowledge through the Jennett Finance Scholars Program and Access Distributed, while also enjoying case competitions along the way. Last summer, Autumn interned at UMB Bank, and she'll spend next summer in Chicago as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Baird. A lifelong Jayhawk fan, she fills her free time watching sports, practicing yoga, running, playing pickleball, and enjoying card games. She also loves to travel; she recently visited family in Taiwan, counts Slovenia as a favorite past destination, and has Singapore at the top of her future travel list. Autumn participates in the annual Bike MS KC ride and enjoys spending time outdoors at the lake, hiking, and staying active.
Nick Frank
Nick is a rising junior at Washington University in St. Louis, where he's pursuing majors in finance and supply chain management at the Olin Business School. Raised in Kansas City as a lifelong competitive swimmer, Nick traces his interest in private equity back to high school, when he helped sell a landscaping business built over several years and became fascinated by the evaluation process behind the transaction. Since arriving at WashU, he has immersed himself in finance through the Investment Banking Association, the Student Managed Investment Fund, and Arch Consulting, WashU's traveling case competition team, where he has competed across the U.S. and Europe. Last summer, Nick worked at Healium, where he helped refine target markets and expand CRM infrastructure. Next summer, he'll be in Chicago working as an investment banking analyst at Stifel, focused on industrials. Outside of college swimming, Nick enjoys distance running, following Formula 1, grilling, and learning about civil engineering.
Since launching the program in 2012, we've made a point of treating our summer analysts as members of the team. From day one, they work alongside the deal team, contribute to live transactions and investment analysis, and gain exposure to every step of the investment process. The summer culminates with each analyst presenting a recommendation on a real opportunity to the full team.
We're excited to have Alex, Will, Autumn, and Nick with us this summer and look forward to supporting their growth, following their careers, and staying connected long after the internship ends.
