Registration Open for Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Campaign School

Registration is now open for Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Campaign School, a series of local government trainings that will focus on running for local offices like county and town board. Campaign School will walk participants through what it takes to run for local office, from deciding whether public service is right for them to building and running an effective campaign.

"The decisions shaping our communities are made by people who choose to get involved," said WFBF Director of Local Government Nate Zimdars. "Our state's farmers know their communities, understand the issues and their perspective matters, making them the ideal candidates to serve in local offices.

Campaign School will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in three locations across Wisconsin:

  • November 10 at UW-River Falls, 501 Wild Rose Avenue River Falls, WI 54022 in the Chippewa River Room of the University Center
  • November 12 at Legacy Family Restaurant, 5110b Main Street Stevens Point, WI 54481
  • November 17 at the Wisconsin Farm Bureau office, 1241 John Q. Hammons Drive, Madison, WI 53717

Topics at each event will include:

  • The questions you should be asking before answering "Should I run?"
  • The roles and responsibilities of local elected officials and the issues discussed as a community leader
  • How to build a winning strategy
  • What you need to do to win on Election Day

The cost to attend is $15 for Wisconsin Farm Bureau members and $85 for non-members. Registration is now open and will close on November 6 for all three events. Advanced registration is required and can be found at wfbf.com/events/campaign-school/.
