The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is pleased to announce the addition of Cornelia Poku as director of communications. In this position, Poku will play a strategic role in leading the communications department in the development and implementation of strategic communications for the AFIA and Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER). Poku brings over a decade of experience working in agriculture, health care and nonprofit communications.

"We are thrilled to welcome Cornelia to the AFIA team," said Victoria Broehm, AFIA's vice president of member experience. "Her depth of communications experience across agriculture, health care and nonprofits, combined with her strategic mindset and passion for storytelling, demonstrate that she will be invaluable in our mission to amplify the industry's voice in the conversations that matter most."

Poku assumed the position, previously held by incumbent Broehm, as of Aug. 4. She will also support AFIA's Marketing and Communications Committee and IFEEDER Education and Engagement Committee.

Hailing from Rockville, Md., Poku holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from American University and a master's degree in education from Lesley University. Prior to joining the AFIA, Poku held positions at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization and FGS Global. Most recently, Poku worked for AmeriCorps, where she managed a $3.1 million marketing and communications budget to support AmeriCorps Seniors.
