NTCA Reply Comments Prioritize Orderly IP Transition

(December 4) In reply comments filed with the FCC, NTCA urged the commission not to adopt sweeping business data services (BDS) detariffing/deregulation changes because the record shows they could create disruption and rate instability, especially harming rural public safety, 911 connectivity, healthcare and other essential services. Instead, NTCA supported targeted, voluntary, market-driven deregulatory steps that would allow the commission to prioritize the development of clear "rules of the road" for IP interconnection to enable an orderly transition.
