Nomination period open through April 3
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Riverside Youth Council, a youth leadership program coordinated in partnership with the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, is accepting nominations through April 3 for the 2026 "Most Remarkable Teens."
The Most Remarkable Teens program recognizes outstanding youth in the City of Riverside ages 14-18 who demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, arts and culture, community involvement, leadership, courage in overcoming adversity, acts of valor, or other notable achievements. Applications will be carefully reviewed and honorees selected by the Riverside Youth Council.
Nomination forms are available here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/25MRT2026. Only one entry per participant will be accepted. The selected honorees will be formally recognized during a special ceremony at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 12.
Additional information and nomination updates will be available through the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department (PRCSD) Instagram page, as well as the social media outlets of the Riverside Youth Council, Riverside Unified School District, Alvord Unified School District, and the Mayor's Office. For assistance, please contact the Youth Opportunity Center at: (951) 826-2272.
Currently mentored through the Johnny Martin Sotelo Youth Opportunity Center and the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, the Riverside Youth Council was established in 2004 by the Mayor, City Council, and Riverside Police Department to provide a platform for youth expression, civic engagement, and leadership development. The program encourages Riverside's young leaders to actively participate in public policy discussions and decision-making processes that impact the lives of local youth.
