Public Hearing Notice & Right to Protest

As per WMC 16.12.040, notice is hereby given that a request to purchase Borough owned tidelands consisting of two tideland parcels, described as Lots 12 and 13, Block 12A, located on Evergreen Ave., zoned Waterfront Development, requested by Brett Woodbury, for the purpose of improving the site and using it for his current business.

The Wrangell Planning & Zoning Commission and Port Commission have reviewed this request and approved the request to move forward with the tidelands purchase.

Any person wishing to protest this application to purchase the proposed Borough owned tidelands described as:

Lot 12, and Lot 13, Block 12A of the Wrangell Townsite, according to Plat No 39-03, Zoned Waterfront Development

...must file a written protest with the Borough Clerk, no later than September 3, 2025, at 4:00 PM.

Written protests may be emailed to [email protected] or delivered to 205 Brueger Street, Wrangell, AK 99929. Any such protest shall state the reason(s) for the protest in detail.

During the Regular Assembly meeting of September 9, 2025 at City Hall, beginning at 6:00pm, in the Borough Assembly Chambers, there will be a public hearing for the assembly to approve or deny moving forward with the sale of Borough-owned Tidelands to Brett Woodbury.
