Full-Service City: Hillsboro’s Fire Station 9 Opens in 2026

About 10 months ago, we broke ground on Hillsboro's sixth strategically located fire station in the South Hillsboro neighborhood.

Scheduled to open in early 2026, construction is nearing completion at the corner of SE Butternut Creek Parkway and SE Deline Street.

This investment in our Fire & Rescue Department will place Hillsboro's highly trained professionals in a great position to effectively serve our growing community.

Designed with sustainability and disaster resilience in mind, Fire Station 9 will help protect residents in the newly developed areas of South Hillsboro by maintaining reliable fire, rescue, and emergency medical care services.

Many City parks have opened in South Hillsboro, including Butternut Creek Park, Reed's Crossing Park, and Tamarack Park. Fire Station 9 will be the first City facility in the area.

Along with Fire & Rescue operations, the building will also host:

  • The Operations Center for the Economic & Community Development Department's Building Division
  • Workspaces for Police and other City departments
  • Electric vehicle charging stations
  • And, in the future, a self-service mini branch of the Library

Fire Station 9 in South Hillsboro represents great service for nearby residents. It also reflects the City of Hillsboro's full-service approach with our strategic use of City-owned property.
