American Jewish Committee (AJC) today announced that Teresa Drenick has been named Northern California Regional Director.
Drenick, who has been Deputy Director of the San Francisco-based regional office, succeeds Seth Brysk, who was named AJC Vice President, Regional Operations.
As Regional Director, Drenick will further strengthen the organization's longstanding relationships with Bay Area Jewish communities, the local consular corps, faith communities, tech leaders, and local, state, and federal elected officials and law enforcement.
Before coming to AJC, Drenick was Deputy Director and Interim Regional Director of the ADL Central Pacific Region, and spent three decades as an Assistant District Attorney in Alameda County.
"At a time of heightened concern, AJC Northern California plays a critical role in confronting the significant challenges facing our community and our world," said Drenick. "I'm honored to step into this position and look forward to working alongside our partners and allies."
In his new role, Brysk will oversee AJC regional offices in San Diego, Los Angeles, Northern California, and Seattle that cover the West Coast, Southwest and Mountain West states. Brysk, who was AJC Los Angeles Regional Director from 2007-2012, returned to the organization in 2024. He served as ADL Central Pacific Regional Director from 2012-2024.
"It is a pivotal moment for our community and our country," said Brysk. "As antisemitism rises, AJC will continue to lead with urgency, purpose, and strength across the Western US. I'm pleased and humbled to help forge a path forward."
