Walberg Votes to Condemn the Horrors of Socialism

Today, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) voted in favor of H.Res.1490, a resolution he cosponsored to condemn socialism in all its forms and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The resolution also condemns specific DSA policies, including allowing noncitizens to vote in American elections, and pledges to protect Americans' right to vote. The resolution passed with 192 Democrats voting in opposition.

"Over the past few years, Michigan and the United States as a whole have seen a concerning rise in support for the destructive policies of socialism and leaders who seek to replace freedom with government control," said Rep. Walberg. "From defunding the police to allowing noncitizens to vote in U.S. elections and seizing ownership of private corporations, the dangerous policies being pushed by the Democratic Socialists of America seek to undermine the very principles that have carried our nation through 250 years of freedom, ingenuity, and opportunity. America will not survive another 250 years by turning to extreme ideologies that have destroyed every society in history that they touched. We must reject these attempts and preserve the rights and freedoms of hardworking Michigan families."
