Watch Windsor Chavis Nocho Community Complex Topping Off June 5

The City of Greensboro's YouTube channel will feature a live feed of the Windsor Chavis Nocho Community Complex topping off which is the placement of the final steel beam on the structure. The live event can be viewed at 12 pm on Friday, June 5 and will include video footage as the last beam is placed at the top of the building. The topping off is considered an important benchmark in the construction timeline of a new building.

The 65,000-square foot Windsor Chavis Nocho Community Complex, 1601 E. Gate City Blvd. is scheduled to open in 2027. When complete, the building will seamlessly combine the facilities and resources of a library, recreation center and park into a singular, transformative destination. The facility's community based program design will serve as a catalyst for growth and a new model for collaboration and delivery of community support including lifelong learning, recreation, healthy living and other vital services. Accommodations for assistive community partners will also be available, creating a convenient hub of social services for surrounding neighborhoods.

There is also a virtual tour available to see how the design of the new facility will offer an unparalleled customer experience with specialty areas focused on different activities and age groups. The design provides diverse spaces for events, meetings, and programs, all while honoring the unique history of the area.

This project was made possible by support and funding from the City of Greensboro, Guilford County, Cone Health, Public Art Endowment, and Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership. For more information visit this website.
