Make Every Day Earth Day by Taking Transit

On Wednesday, April 22, celebrate Earth Day by taking transit. Your actions, when united with others around the world, create a movement that is inclusive, impactful, and impossible to ignore. Celebrate Earth Day and help create a new plan of action for our planet.

FEWER CARS ON THE ROAD
On average, based on pre-pandemic Bay Area traffic, taking Golden Gate Transit & Ferry removes approximately 13,000 cars a day off the streets of San Francisco. That means less congestion, less cars idling in traffic, less stress on drivers AND our planet.

HYBRID BUSES
Golden Gate Transit has over 60 hybrid buses in the fleet that are 25 percent more fuel efficient. These hybrid buses reduce emissions while taking cars off the road.

CONSERVING WATER
Keeping buses clean for your trips is a top priority, so the bus wash uses recycled water to keep our fleet clean while conserving precious water resources.
