Aldersly Retirement Community Project Issued Certificate of Occupancy

On December 19, 2025, the San Rafael Building Department issued a Certificate of Occupancy for the Aldersly Retirement Community at 526 Mission Avenue, marking an important step in the expansion and renovation of the more than 100-year-old facility.

Approved in September 2022, the project increased the number of residential units from 55 to 69-an approximately 25 percent increase. The project enhances the residential facility with the addition of a new Independent Living building, a new service building along Belle Avenue, three renovated/reconfigured buildings, and new outdoor spaces including a memory care garden, activity lawn, and rose terrace.

The final phase is forthcoming, and will include both new and renovated Independent Living units.
