Alumni Weekend returns for second year at Campbell

BUIES CREEK - Alumni from across the country returned to Campbell University April 17-18 for Alumni Weekend, a two-day series of events focused on connection, celebration and engagement.

Now in its second year (previously called Reunion Weekend), Alumni Weekend has continued to grow as a signature event for the Campbell University Alumni Association.

"Alumni Weekend 2026 was a fun and sunny one! Thank you all for joining us back home in the Creek," said Shelby Howard, Director of Alumni Engagement. "I enjoyed reconnecting with former classmates, making new friends, and seeing so many beautiful families on campus. This weekend had something for everyone, and we are excited to see how Alumni Weekend grows into a beloved tradition at Campbell in the years to come."

The weekend featured a variety of events designed to engage alumni across generations. Activities began Friday with the Leave your Legacy at Campbell Lunch and Learn, where attendees learned about the Wiggins Society, the University's planned giving society, and heard from keynote speaker James Adcock '09.

Several Golden Club alumni gathered at the Cornelia Campbell Alumni House for a social hour on Friday afternoon, where they reminisced and revisited memories through Pine Burr yearbooks. Alumni later attended a Campbell history lecture from Dr. Glenn Jonas followed by a welcome reception at the Oscar N. Harris Student Union before evening programing began, which included the SGA Reunion Dinner, a Front Porch Theater performance and a concert in Academic Circle by the Buies Creek Big Band.

Saturday's events began with the Prayer Labyrinth in Butler Chapel and continued with the Orange & Black Brunch Bash, which welcomed several Campbell football student-athletes and fans back to campus to watch the annual spring football game at Barker-Lane Stadium.

The Alumni Family Reunion Picnic, held on the lawn outside the Cornelia Campbell Alumni House, offered food, games and activities for all ages. Campbell softball and baseball games in the afternoon concluded the weekend.

"My favorite thing about coming back is that its so friendly and the people are so outgoing, said Wilda Prince '56 who attended several events during the weekend including the Golden Club social, the Alumni Family Reunion Picnic and watching her beloved Campbell baseball team defeat Elon on Saturday. "I just look forward to coming down here and telling everybody about it. It keeps me young and healthy!"

Camels in the City set for June 4

Camels in the City alumni gatherings will take place Thursday, June 4 in Charlotte, Fuquay-Varina, Raleigh, Wilmington and Winston-Salem along with Richmond, Virginia and Austin, Texas.

Alumni leaders will welcome guests in their respective cities for an evening of networking and connection. Whether you just relocated or are a longtime resident, attendees are invited to meet fellow Campbell alumni in their area. Attendees will also have a chance to win prizes and enjoy light refreshments.

All Camels in the City events will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., or as long as the fun lasts! Location and address details will be shared via email in May. Registration is now open.
