Henderson State announces 2024 homecoming royalty candidates

Homecoming activities at Henderson State University are under way as the student body prepares to vote for Henderson's 2024 homecoming royalty. 20 students are nominated for the homecoming court.

Ten finalists will be announced Oct. 24 during the annual homecoming pep rally. The introduction of the full court, followed by the coronation ceremony, will take place during football pre-game festivities on Oct. 26 when the Reddies host the University of Arkansas at Monticello at 1 p.m. at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium.

The 2022 homecoming court includes:

Dekota Jones
Jones is a senior integrated studies major from Arkadelphia sponsored by the HSU Football Team. She is an active member of the BSA, TRiO, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority incorporated, a resident assistant, and student athletic trainer.

Jaci Vines
Vines is a senior marketing and management major from Glenwood sponsored by Alpha Sigma Alpha. She is the vice president of education for Alpha Sigma Alpha, a member of Diamond Dolls, and volunteers with the Special Olympics.|

Mirissa Parker
Parker is a senior nursing major from Bismarck sponsored by the Student Nurses Association. She is a member of Student Nurses Association and Alpha Sigma Alpha.

Kenzie Harper
Harper is a senior nursing major from Gurdon sponsored by the Student Nurses Association. She is a member of the Student Nurses Association, Student Support Services, and Alpha Xi Delta.

Mallory Morrison
Morrison is a junior nursing major from Friendship sponsored by Alpha Xi Delta. She is a member of the Student Nurses Association and Alpha Xi Delta.

Riley Larkin
Larkin is a senior elementary education major from Bauxite sponsored by Diamond Dolls. She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta, East Union Baptist Church, and volunteers for The Call of Clark County.

Kaitlyn Byrd
Byrd is a senior vocal music education major from Malvern sponsored by HSU Choirs. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, HSU Choirs, the Choir Council, Tau Beta Sigma, Heart and Key, and Diamond Dolls, and is the 2024 Greek Woman of the Year.

Elizabeth Rodriguez
Rodriguez is a senior nursing major from Arkadelphia sponsored by Housing and Community Standards. She is a resident assistant, a member of Student Activities Board, the Latino Club, Student Support Services, St. Mary's Catholic Church, and volunteers at the Beehive.

Makhiya Jackson
Jackson is a senior biology education major from Pine Bluff sponsored by RAAD Reddies. She is the Vice President RAAD Reddies, a member of Arkansas Collegiate Network, and the HSU housing staff.

Lexie Lee Lockwood
Lockwood is a sophomore business marketing major from Cabot sponsored by Alpha Xi Delta. She is the Philanthropy Vice President for Alpha Xi Delta, Co-Captain for the Henderson State Pom Squad, and volunteers with the Call in Arkadelphia.

Daphne Thomas
Thomas is a junior nursing major from Conway sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and the Student Nursing Association.

McKenzie Sanders
Sanders is a junior biology pre-med major from Little Rock and is sponsored by the Black Student Association. She is the second vice president for BSA, the current Miss Black and Gold, co-captain for the Reddie Pom Squad, and was 2nd runner up at Miss HSU.

Karriel Williams
Williams is a junior early childhood and entrepreneurship major from Bluff City sponsored by the Showband of Arkansas. She is the current VPME and Sister Relations Coordinator for Tau Beta Sigma, a member of choir council, HSU Choirs, University Chorale, the Showband of Arkansas, and volunteers for HSU Band Camp.

Caitlyn Cotton
Cotton is a senior nursing major from Malvern sponsored by Alpha Sigma Tau. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, Tau Beta Sigma, the Student Nursing Association, and Diamond Dolls.

Alexis Moser
Moser is a junior nursing major from Malvern sponsored by Alpha Sigma Tau. She is a member of Heart and Key, Diamond Dolls, Student Nurses Association, and serves as the spiritual leader for her nursing class.

Mackenzie Hoyt
Hoyt is a junior nursing major from Bauxite sponsored by Diamond Dolls. She is the current president of Diamond Dolls, a member of the Student Nurses Association and Honors College, and has been on the Chancellor's List for the last four semesters.

Kira Accor
Accor is a senior nursing major from Gurdon sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She is president of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a member of TRiO, a first generation college student, and mom to her five-year old daughter.

Macie Motes
Motes is a senior elementary education major from DeKalb, Texas, sponsored by Alpha Sigma Alpha. She is the Vice President of Programming for Alpha Sigma Alpha, president of the National Panhellenic Council, a member of the Diamond Dolls, treasurer of Student Government Association, participates in intramural sports, and volunteers for the Special Olympics.

Emily Smith
Smith is a junior psychology major from Arkadelphia sponsored by the Wesley Foundation. She is the piccolo section leader for the Showband of Arkansas and a member of the HSU Chorale and Concert Choir, Alpha Sigma Tau, and Kappa Kappa Psi.

Autumn Raine Greenwood
Greenwood is a senior elementary education major from Newhope sponsored by Sigma Tau Gamma. She is the president of Alpha Sigma Alpha, vice president of recruitment for the National Panhellenic Council, a member of Baptist Collegiate Ministries and Missionary Baptist Student Foundation, participates in intramural sports, and volunteers with Special Olympics, I Can Dance, Polar Plunge, and Dot Days.
