The Home Depot Adds 12 New Stores Across Eight States to its U.S. Footprint

The Home Depot is expanding its U.S. footprint with 12 new stores and more than 1.6 million square feet of retail space across eight states in 2026. As the nation faces a critical need for new housing and the upkeep of aging homes, this growth will create thousands of career opportunities and boost local economies from the Southern California coast to the Florida peninsula.

While many retailers are closing brick-and-mortar locations, The Home Depot is expanding its physical presence to better serve the modern builder and the inspired homeowner. By moving inventory and expert support closer to some of the nation's fastest growing regions, the company is shortening the distance between a project's start and its completion.

THE VISION

"We're excited about all of the progress we've made in our stores. And our efforts are paying off. In 2025, our customer satisfaction scores increased every quarter, and our tenure with hourly associates is the highest it's been since 2017."

Ann-Marie Campbell

Senior Executive Vice President
