As you depart the Forest Service, I want to thank you for your service to the American public. Your contributions to the stewardship of our national forests and grasslands have been immeasurable, whether you were with the agency for three years or three decades.
You have fought fires and reduced fire risk to communities, introduced scientific innovation and conducted long-term studies on experimental forests, cruised timber and introduced people to the wonders of their big backyard, and so much more. Above all, you have cultivated relationships and provided impeccable customer service.
I know you weighed the many options available to you before choosing to take this path. You will bring your talent and dedication to whatever you do next. If you are retiring, I hope that you are able to travel or relax or continue serving through volunteerism-whatever brings you joy.
Thank you, again, for your dedication to the Forest Service and serving this nation.
