October 8 - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ® Inductee Jorma Kaukonen - legendary guitarist and founding member of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna - has announced an intimate and career-spanning U.S. tour in celebration of his 85th birthday this fall. He will perform shows in four major cities across the country, headlining The Warner Theatre in Washington D.C. on November 1, Carnegie Hall in New York City on November 29, the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco on December 5, and finally the Paramount Theatre in Denver on December 13. Jorma's music has endured through six decades and successive generations. The 85thBirthday Celebration Tour sees him mine his extensive output as an artist, songwriter, and performer to present a set that audiences have never experienced before. From recognizable riffs to his famously meditative solo guitar compositions, he will tell his life story through these songs.

The celebration of Jorma isn't limited to these shows though. He will also release his new live album, Wabash Avenue , on vinyl as an exclusive in honor of "Record Store Day" on November 28, 2025. This original recording from 1965 unearths one of his earliest public performances at The Offstage in San Jose, CA. Shortly after, a 25-year-old Jorma joined Jefferson Airplane. It captures him at a crucial juncture of his career.

Tracing his journey, he released his acclaimed memoir, Been So Long: My Life and Music, in 2018. It follows Jorma as he discovers his calling, becomes a career musician, and achieves global success, renown, and countless accolades. It's the perfect time to revisit the book as he launches the 85th Birthday Celebration Tour.

In between the solo dates, he will resume touring with Hot Tuna until the end of 2025. Next up, the duo will extend their "Acoustic Hot Tuna" series with gigs across several US cities, including Buffalo, NY, Wilmington, DE, Ann Arbor, MI, and more. They will be joined by Justin Guip and Ross Garren. See the full list of tour dates below.

ABOUT JORMA KAUKONEN

Jorma Kaukonen is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® Inductee, GRAMMY® Award-winning musician, and one of the most influential guitarists of all-time. Named among Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists," he pioneered a signature fusion of folk, blues, and rock and, ultimately, inspired generations of players to follow in his footsteps. The world first heard Jorma as an original member of Jefferson Airplane, playing lead guitar on a string of classic albums. He went on to co-found iconic blues duo Hot Tuna with Jack Casady, building up another parallel legacy thereafter. Renowned for his unprecedented fingerpicking and eloquent six-string phrasing, his catalog expanded with over 20 solo albums. He was notably inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® as a member of Jefferson Airplane in 1996, while he and his bandmates garnered the prestigious GRAMMY® Lifetime Achievement Award during 2016. He celebrates his 85th birthday by headlining a very special North American tour in 2025. Looking ahead, he delivers his newly uncovered live album, Wabash Avenue, as a Record Store Day exclusive in 2026, boasting one of his earliest-known performances from 1965. However, he continues to write, record, and perform, magnifying his impact.
