Eurogas is hiring a Policy Intern | Sustainable Finance

The position

We are looking for a Policy Intern to reinforce our team. The intern will focus mainly on Sustainable Finance issues, topics which are critical for unlocking the investment required for the transition. The implementation and review of the EU Taxonomy Regulation, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). Beyond Sustainable Finance, the intern will have the opportunity to contribute to the advocacy tasks carried by the wider policy team on the other main priorities for Eurogas.

What you will do / learn to do

  • Support Eurogas' policy and advocacy work on sustainable finance and contribute to the policy-team wide work on other Eurogas priorities
  • Draft position papers, briefings, consultation responses and internal notes on EU legislative and regulatory initiatives
  • Monitor, track, analyse the developments/implications of EU sustainable finance
  • Collaborate with Eurogas members, external stakeholders, partner organisations and across Eurogas teams
  • Support and join Eurogas delegations in meetings with policymakers, during events and in stakeholder coalitions

What you bring

  • An advanced university degree related to the organisation's mission
  • Familiarity with the EU decision making process - previous practical experience will be considered a plus
  • Strong interest in EU climate policy, carbon markets and sustainable finance
  • Excellent command of English (oral and written)
  • Ability to be concise, self-starter, good team player and attention to detail are required
  • Eligibility to work in Belgium
  • Candidate should have completed their studies
