AHN Mobile Clinic Provides Flu & COVID Vaccines at Senior Activity Center in Bellevue Today

Donated by the Brother's Brother Foundation, the AHN Mobile Clinic provides health services to adults and children in communities across Western Pennsylvania

WHAT:

The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Mobile Clinic will be stationed at PrimeTime Senior Center in Bellevue today, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to noon. AHN clinicians will provide patrons of the center with flu and COVID-19 shots. Individuals have registered in advance to receive the vaccines.

The mobile health clinic was generously donated to AHN by Brother's Brother Foundation last spring. The clinic is used by the AHN Primary Care Institute and the AHN Pediatric Institute to provide adults and children with needed health screenings and exams in communities marked by high levels of social vulnerability and/or insufficient access to health care services. Following each exam, care teams work to connect patients with local health and social resources.

Run by the Lutheran Service Society, PrimeTime Senior Center is designed for adults over 60 who enjoy learning, moving and social interaction.

WHEN:
TODAY, Thursday, Oct. 24
9am - noon

WHERE:
PrimeTime Senior Center
440 Lincoln Ave.
Pittsburgh, PA 15202

WHY:
Underserved communities often experience higher rates of chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease and asthma, making them more susceptible to severe illness from flu and COVID-19. Vaccination is crucial for reducing the risk of severe illness, hospitalization and even death, particularly among vulnerable populations like older adults. The AHN mobile clinic provides a vital service by reaching individuals where they are, promoting engagement and facilitating ongoing care.
