Earth Day Resources

By Zanna Sharp

April 22nd is Earth Day! Join in the internationally celebrated holiday to support the protection and preservation of our planet. At the Lewiston City Library, we have resources in-house and online to educate yourself about the issues facing our environment. We also have items available to help you and your family get out and enjoy the great outdoors.

Head to LiLI.org for databases of publications related to agriculture and the environment, such as Agricola and GreenFile. LiLI also has a plethora of relevant ebooks such as Alternative Energy, Human Geography: People and the Environment, and Food: In Context. You can also access Outdoor Idaho, a collection of videos and lesson plans exploring the diverse richness of Idaho's natural resources.

We have an assortment of outdoorsy items available for checkout, including fishing poles, trash grabbers, hiking and nature packs, maps, snowshoes and a rock-tumbling kit. Not to mention, sections in both adult and juvenile non-fiction full of books dedicated to nature!
