The dean's list for Penn State Altoona's spring 2024 semester has been announced. The dean's list recognizes the academic excellence of undergraduate students who have met credit load requirements, as outlined by University policy, and who have earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona students can now apply for Summer Success Scholarships for summer 2026. These scholarships provide financial assistance to students who need academic support to stay on track toward degree completion.
The scholarships are intended to help students who have fallen behind in their academic progress and would benefit from enrolling in summer coursework but face financial challenges that may prevent them from doing so.
For summer 2026, Penn State Altoona will award Summer Success Scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each. Eligible students must be current undergraduate, degree-seeking Penn State students; incoming first-year students and non-degree students are not eligible. Students must enroll in at least three credits during the summer at any Penn State campus, including World Campus. While students do not need to be registered for summer courses at the time of application, registration is required in order to receive the scholarship if selected.
A summer course must support the student's ability to stay on or return to an on-time degree completion path. Examples include students who are on academic warning, returning from academic suspension, need to repeat a course that requires a grade of "C" or better, are behind in a required math sequence, or whose degree program requires a summer internship. Applicants must also demonstrate financial circumstances that limit their ability to enroll in summer coursework. Financial need will be verified through the Office of Student Aid using the University's need index.
The Summer Success Scholarship application is now open and available. The deadline to apply is Saturday, April 11, allowing time for review and awarding prior to the due date for summer tuition bills. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Applications will be reviewed between April 13 and April 29, with final decisions made during that period. Scholarships will be awarded during the week of May 4 and all applicants will be notified of their application status, regardless of whether they receive an award.
Students who believe a summer course would support their academic progress are encouraged to apply, and faculty and staff are encouraged to share this opportunity with students who may benefit from additional academic and financial support.
