City of West Hollywood Kicks-Off ‘Summer Sounds 2026’ Free Outdoor Concert Series on Select Sundays

The City of West Hollywood's Summer Sounds Free Outdoor Concert Series returns in 2026. Concerts will take place on select Sunday afternoons beginning at 4 p.m. on July 5, July 26, and August 16, 2026, at Plummer Park, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. Summer Sounds concerts are free and open to the public. While RSVPs are not required, they are encouraged. Reserved seating is not available. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, park blankets, and low-back chairs. Food will also be available for purchase. É Arenas and DJ Que Madre will perform on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 4 p.m. Eduardo Arenas was born and raised in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. He is a founding member and bassist/guitarist/vocalist of the group Chicano Batman. For the last 10 years, he has dedicated himself to É Arenas where he is pioneering the resurgence of the '90s cumbia-quebradita with the release of several dance bangers including La Fila de Tommys, Takis and Mar Iguana. His full band, É Arenas & Las Iguanas del Mar, puts on a Frank Zappa meets Mi Banda El Mexicano-esque electrifying live performance.

Maryann "Que Madre" is a DJ, curator, and cultural organizer from East Los Angeles with roots in Durango and Jalisco. A multi-genre DJ grounded in vinyl culture, her sets weave together nostalgia, rhythm, and resistance. She is a resident DJ of Noche Romántica and I Love Micheladas Fest and moves seamlessly through cumbia sonidera, románticas, norteñas, quebraditas, perreo y más. Her work lives at the intersection of music, community, and memory, inviting every dance floor to feel both familiar and fresh.

Nikka Costa and DJ Anthony Valadez will perform on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 4 p.m.Back By Popular Demand! Nikka Costa, daughter of legendary producer and arranger Don Costa, embodies the essence of music in her very being. With a string of critically acclaimed albums, beginning with her 2001 Virgin Records debut Everybody Got Their Something, Nikka Costa emerged as a luminary in the "nu-soul" landscape, known for her signature blend of American soul, funk, and rock, a captivating fusion uniquely her own. She is now poised to make her triumphant return with Dirty Disco, an electrifying mix of funk and disco produced by longtime collaborator Justin Stanley (Eric Clapton, Jamie Lidell, Prince).

Anthony Valadez is no stranger to LA airwaves as host of KROQ's Latin Alternative program, Alternalido, and more than 15 years at KCRW. As a live DJ, he has unified dance floors at The Hollywood Bowl, the Natural History Museum, and iconic venues such as Temple Bar, The Avalon, and Sayers.

The Soul Space featuring Tamara Jade & Orlando Dixon, Mark Evich, and DJ RoseGawd will perform on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 4 p.m. The Soul Space Live is the music experience you didn't know you were missing. Curated by Tamara Jade and Orlando Dixon, artists who've shared stages with Doja Cat, Jon Batiste, Madonna, and Lizzo, and brought their voices to NBC's The Voice and the Grammy Awards. Each experience lives at the intersection of new school and nostalgia. Think 106th & Park meets BET Soul in your grandma's basement. Community, connection, and an energy that speaks directly to the soul.

Mark Evich is a Los Angeles-based soul singer and producer making waves in the contemporary R&B scene. With a growing catalog of EPs and singles, his music has been featured on playlists such as Fresh Finds, Nu-Funk, and Best Funk, earning praise from fans and tastemakers alike. Drawing inspiration from artists like D'Angelo, Bilal, Jill Scott, and the Soulquarians movement, Evich blends soulful vocals, rich grooves, and modern production into a sound that feels both timeless and fresh.

DJ Rosegawd, also known as Rose, is a dynamic DJ and event curator with roots in the San Fernando Valley. She began her DJ career in Harlem, New York, in 2017, where she founded "Ladera Hearts," an event platform merging music and fashion. Initially hosting themed fashion events at local bars, she expanded her influence to Los Angeles in 2019. DJ Rosegawd's innovative approach to event curation and her dedication to celebrating influential music have solidified her presence in the industry, making her a notable figure in both the Los Angeles and New York music scenes.
