Next week, our nation will celebrate America's 250th birthday -- a milestone marking a quarter of a millennium since the Declaration of Independence.

This anniversary belongs to the American people. It is an opportunity to reflect on the ideals that have shaped our nation: freedom, self-government, opportunity, and the enduring work of building a more perfect union. The administration seems to be usurping this special occasion, shifting it to a gilded tribute to the president and rewriting of our nation's history -- but America is so much more than that. I want to hear from you about what you believe America 250 should represent.
